Candidate filing
The filing deadline noon today, June 1st. We are updating the filings as they happen on our candidate filing page and adding information from the SOS office. Candidate Filing Info State and federal file at SOS, township and county file at County Clerk.
Check your mail
We have mailed confirmation voter registration cards to every voter as preparation for the upcoming elections, this ensures voters have correct information on polling places. This is good time to double check that your address information is correct.
No Labels Party
The Kansas No Labels Party is no longer a registered option for voter affiliation. All current No Labels affiliated voters are being moved to unaffiliated status and will receive notifications in the mail.

Voting and Elections
The Douglas County Clerk serves as the County's Election Officer with the responsibility for the planning and operation of all elections held in the county (as required by Kansas Statutes and Administrative regulations) and maintains all records relating to such elections.
A constitutional question has been added to the ballot for the primary election held on August 4, 2026. Click the button below to see the full text of the proposed constitutional amendment.
Jamie Shew
County Clerk
Jamie Shew was elected County Clerk and County Election Officer for Douglas County, Kansas in 2004 and is currently serving his sixth term. Prior to his election, he worked in higher education administration and business management.
Jamie is active in the Election Center, Kansas Association of Counties, Bipartisan Policy Center Task Force on Elections, and the Kansas County Clerks & Elections Officials Association, where he served as president in 2014–15. He serves on the U.S. Election Assistance Commission Standards Board and U.S. EAC Local Leadership Council, and co-chairs the Election Center Legislative Committee.
