The Purchasing Office is responsible for monitoring compliance with the Douglas County Finance Policy; issuing and/or assisting County Departments with solicitations for services and commodities, as needed; maintaining an active list of Vendors, managing contracts for purchases, and working with Departments and Vendors to resolve issues related to purchases.
Public Requests for Proposals or Requests for Bids are published in the Official County Newspaper, The Lawrence Journal-World.
Douglas County posts procurement opportunities and only accepts electronic bid submissions using the e-Procurement Platform bids&tenders™.

Does your business offer after-hours services?
When setting up your vendor account, you can opt into the "Emergency Vendor Database." This allows organizations like Douglas County to access your after-hours information if an emergency arises. You can opt in or opt out of this function within your bids&tenders account profile at any time.
