Parking at Senior Resource Center
As of May 2024
Parking is enforced in Downtown Lawrence Monday thru Saturday, 9:30am to 6:00pm.
Parking Options for the Senior Resource Center
- Vermont Street Parking Garage, north of SRC
- Accessible from either Vermont Street or Kentucky Street
- Different areas of the garage have different rules—See below for more info
- Spots marked “Senior Resource Center” are still 2-hours only
- Curb-side parking on 8th Street or elsewhere downtown
- Traditional coin meters or parking app on a smartphone
- Parking lot #14- across the street on Vermont
- 2 hours free
How to use the Smartphone App
- Go to your phone’s app store
- Choose either app option (both are free)
- Passport Parking o Park Mobile
- Create an account using a credit card and entering your license plate number
- Locate the parking zone number (on the white signs placed around the parking lot)
- Start Parking! If you would like help with the app, ask at the SRC front desk and we will assist you!
- The top level is 10-hour free parking
Vermont Street Garage
- Level 3 is $2 per day
- Levels 1 and 2 are 2-hour free parking
- Spots marked “Senior Resource Center” are also 2-hours only (To stay longer, please choose the top level or prepare to pay)
- Pay stations are located at each stairwell on Level 1 or you can use the app on a smartphone
Accessible Parking
- Accessible parking is available throughout Downtown Lawrence
- Vehicles displaying authorized placards/tags are not required to pay meters/use the app
- Vehicle can remain in the spot beyond the time limit
Other Information
- License plate must be visible to passing parking enforcement vehicle (no backing in)
- Citations can be issued every 2 hours if there is no payment made and the vehicle remains
- Expired time violations are fined $10 if paid within 10 days. Pay online or at City Hall
- Parking fines increase to $25 after 10 days
- Parking is free on City holidays

The Senior Resource Center is located in Downtown Lawrence, perfectly situated near the public library, parks, the public swimming pool, shops, restaurants and the scenic Kansas River. Stop by anytime during our business hours. The Senior Resource Center is also available for private events.
