Kansas Open Records Act (KORA)

The Kansas Open Records Act (KORA) allows you to inspect and obtain copies of public records created or maintained by public agencies in Kansas. KORA, K.S.A. 45-215, declares it is the public policy of Kansas that “public records shall be open for inspection by any person.” Public records are defined as “any recorded information, regardless of form or characteristics, which is made, maintained or kept by or is in the possession of any public agency.”

Victim-Witness Services

The Victim-Witness program of the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office was designed to create a more trauma-informed, compassionate and inclusive response for victims and witnesses involved with the criminal justice system in Douglas County, Kansas.

The public is encouraged to join our County Commission meetings in person or live using Zoom. Agendas for public meetings, along with the materials associated with those meeting agendas, will continue to be available ahead of the meeting on the County’s website, and recordings of the County Commission meetings will be posted on the County’s website after the meeting. Individuals may sign up to receive notification of the agenda for County Commission meetings on the County’s website as well.
