Community Corrections supervises high-risk clients who are assigned to the program by the 7th Judicial District Court in Douglas County, Kansas, as well as clients transferred to Douglas County, Kansas from other Kansas Community Corrections jurisdictions for courtesy supervision.

Each client is required to participate in an intensive supervision plan that may include, but is not limited to, vocational training, educational services, employment assistance, mental health services,  Batterer’s Intervention Programming, sex offender treatment, substance use treatment, evidence based cognitive-behavioral interventions, and cognitive skills programming. Adult Services Officers complete a risk and need assessment interview with the client, and the results determine the appropriate supervision level, reporting requirements, and verification standards. Individualized Case Plans are developed with the clients to assist with goal planning and appropriate interventions to support positive change. Random drug testing is required. Adult Services Officers utilize the response grids to reward positive behavior change and consequences in response to probation violations. The court determines if a Community Corrections client is required to make restitution payments to victims, pay court costs, or have the opportunity to complete community service work in lieu of court costs. Additional program fees and reimbursement costs may be assessed.
