What is the cost?

The system is provided at no cost to users as this system has been purchased by the Northeast Region Homeland Security Council through grant funds.

What kind of messages will I receive?

Individuals can personalize which weather alerts they would like to receive. The system also has the capability of providing other health and safety information during disasters or other emergencies to subscribers in a specified geographical area. Because this is a regional system, individuals can select emergency alerts and weather alerts from multiple participating counties.

Why don't the Weather Alerts ask me for a specific county?

Weather alerts are triggered to your devices when your location(s) are in the selected weather alert. For example, if you select Tornado Warning and enter an address (location) in Eudora, you will receive the Tornado Warning alert only when your specific location is included in the Tornado Warning polygon issued by the National Weather Service.
