Jury finds Lawrence man guilty of aggravated robbery, residential burglary

Douglas County District Attorney Suzanne Valdez today announced that a jury found Chester W. Brockman, Jr., 51, of Lawrence, guilty of aggravated robbery and aggravated residential burglary in connection with an armed home invasion in 2022.
“Crimes involving firearms are inherently dangerous and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent,” District Attorney Valdez said.
Senior Assistant District Attorney David Greenwald and Assistant District Attorney Samantha Foster represented the State. The case was investigated by the Lawrence Police Department.
The next hearing is a scheduling conference that is set for 10:30 a.m., on January 23, 2024, at the Douglas County Judicial and Law Enforcement Center. Brockman faces between 55 and 247 months in the Kansas Department of Corrections for the aggravated robbery conviction and between 38 and 172 months in the KDOC for the aggravated residential burglary.
