Douglas County District Attorney Suzanne Valdez today announced that a jury returned guilty verdicts on one misdemeanor count of domestic battery and one misdemeanor count of battery against David I. Pratt, 34, of Lawrence.
The charges stemmed from a November 27, 2021 domestic incident in the 2900 block of Missouri Street.
“Domestic violence has far-reaching and long-term impacts,” District Attorney Valdez said. “I’m proud of the work of those in the District Attorney’s Office to hold these perpetrators accountable and address this public health issue that affects all of us in this community.”
The State was represented by Assistant District Attorney Brian Deiter. The case was investigated by the Lawrence Police Department and Lawrence Douglas County Fire Medical.
Sentencing was set by Judge Sally Pokorny for 3 p.m. on October 26, 2022 at the Douglas County Judicial and Law Enforcement Center.
