Data on criminal cases handled by the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office are now available through an easy-to-use online dashboard.

District Attorney Suzanne Valdez initiated the project shortly after she took office this year as part of her commitment to operating in transparency and seeking public accountability. Users of the dashboard can sort data in a variety of ways, including: types of charges, charge levels (misdemeanor or felony), age groups, gender and race of defendant, date of offense and disposition of cases.

“Transparency and accountability are among the core values of this office,” Valdez said. “In addition to providing this data to the public, we will examine this information internally to better understand our impact on the criminal justice system.”

The dashboard was created by Dillon Waugh, media/information specialist in the DA’s office. The data will be updated weekly.
