Updated Vacation Rental Standards
July 2, 2025 6:17 am
Douglas County Zoning and Codes is pleased to announce newly adopted regulations governing vacation rentals. Previously, the zoning regulations required a Conditional Use Permit for all vacation rentals. In an effort to streamline the process, if criteria are met, staff can administratively review and approve certain vacation rentals. These measures are designed to ensure a harmonious balance between accommodating visiting guests, safeguarding the interests of local residents, and protecting public health and safety. Please note, all vacation rental properties must be registered.
For further information please refer to the Douglas County Zoning and Land Use Regulations. Regulations specific to vacation rentals can be found beginning on page 165.
The meeting minutes for the April 17th, 2024 Board of County Commissioners Meeting where Vacation Rental Standards were discussed and adopted can be found here.
We appreciate the input and engagement from all stakeholders during this process.
