Can I record documents with the Douglas County Register of Deeds if the property referred to is not located in the county?

No. The Douglas County Register of Deeds only records documents that pertain to Douglas County properties. The only exception to this would be a multi-county document where one or more of the properties affected are in Douglas County. At least a portion of any property referred to in the document has to be located in Douglas County, Kansas.
