Douglas County, Kansas has launched Open Budget Douglas County to offer residents and community stakeholders with a user-friendly interactive platform to understand and explore the County’s annual operating budget. The county budget serves as the foundation of the county’s policies and priorities in determining the appropriate use of county tax dollars. This application has been developed in an effort to promote transparency in public spending, accountability, and community empowerment through accessibility of information.

Workers Compensation Fund
K.S.A. 12-2615 authorizes any County to establish a risk management reserve fund for the purpose of providing funds to finance a program of self-insurance by the County.
2026 Proposed Budget
Douglas County funds over 40 community partners, who provide behavioral health, human services, economic development, heritage, and land management services for the community.
Capital Improvement Plan
Douglas County's Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) establishes the proposed schedule of projects to be completed over the next five years.
