The public is encouraged to join our County Commission meetings in person or live using Zoom. Agendas for public meetings, along with the materials associated with those meeting agendas, will continue to be available ahead of the meeting on the County’s website, and recordings of the County Commission meetings will be posted on the County’s website after the meeting. Individuals may sign up to receive notification of the agenda for County Commission meetings on the County’s website as well.

Commission Board Attendance on Fri, December 2, 2022 - 9:00 AM

Douglas County/Lawrence Metro Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge (YEC) will be held on Friday, December 2nd from 9 AM to 1 PM at The Dwayne Peaslee Technical Training Center. This is an annual event hosted by the Douglas County and Lawrence Metro E-Communities in partnership with Network Kansas. Junior and high school age youth from Douglas County are eligible to participate. Flyer attached with additional information/registration: https://goventuredash.com/competitions/307. Two or more Commissioners may be in attendance.

Since taking office, I have sought to publicly announce policy decisions and the reasoning behind these decisions. My hope is to help the community better understand how our criminal justice system works and the role of the District Attorney. In discussions with various groups, I’ve found that a common misconception is that the District Attorney’s Office is responsible for imposing sentences.
