Since taking office as District Attorney, there have been complaints made against me to the Office of the Disciplinary Administrator, an arm of the Judicial Branch. With the exception of the two currently pending, all other complaints have been dismissed.
In summary, these complaints have been filed by individuals who have disagreed with the policies I have instituted and the decisions I have made within the scope of my work as District Attorney.

March 26, 2021 was my 75th day in office as Douglas County District Attorney. It was also the day the Office of the Disciplinary Administrator, an arm of the Judicial Branch, sent out notice that Judge James McCabria had made a disciplinary complaint against me.
Lawrence man receives concurrent sentences for attempted second-degree murder in 2021 shooting
Douglas County District Attorney Suzanne Valdez announced that Alejandro Martinez Diaz, 20, of Lawrence, was sentenced Thursday to more than 10 years in prison for two counts of attempted murder in the second degree for shooting at a vehicle and seriously injuring the vehicle’s passenger in north Lawrence in 2021.
