UPDATE: Water services were restored in the Judicial and Law Enforcement Center on Thursday afternoon, July 31. The water line break was due to an old pipe.

There was a water line break on the east side of the Douglas County Judicial and Law Enforcement Center, 111 E. Eleventh St., early this morning, July 31. As a result, the Maintenance Department needed to shut off the water services in the building until it can be repaired. There is currently no estimate for the restoration of water services. There was no damage to the building, according to Maintenance and Facilities Director Jimmy Wilkins.

Court services are available and scheduled to remain open. The public and employees can use services in the historic Courthouse, 1100 Massachusetts St., which is next door.  A jury trial is being moved to the historic Courthouse in the Commission meeting room.
