The Douglas County Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC) is seeking the community’s input on potential areas of focus through a survey. The results will be used to help develop the next strategic plan.

The CJCC was established by resolution of the Board of County Commissioners in 2016 to “provide a working forum to support communication and collaborative coordination between and among key criminal justice system officials, advisory bodies, agencies, departments and community members to promote public health, public safety and an effective, equitable and efficient criminal justice system in our community.”



As part of its establishment, “The Council in coordination with the Douglas County Criminal Justice Coordinator shall establish a strategic plan including clear goals, objectives and priorities. The plan shall be reviewed annually.” The CJCC’s current strategic plan, dated 2019-2022, is scheduled to sunset at the end of 2022. To start the process of developing the next strategic plan to guide the work of the CJCC in 2023, community members are encouraged to participate in the survey. The survey is intended to gather initial feedback about what areas of the justice system CJCC stakeholders and community members identify as most pressing and where the CJCC should focus strategic efforts. Following the completion of the survey, results will be analyzed and presented to the CJCC to further develop the 2023 strategic plan.
