Appraiser's Office working to correct printing issue affecting about 5,600 properties

The Douglas County Appraiser’s Office mailed the 2021 Change of Value Notices on Friday, Feb. 26. On Monday, March 1, Appraiser Steven Miles and his staff became aware that some notices had the incorrect property information and value printed on them.

By Tuesday evening, March 2, the Appraiser’s Office had located where a printing error occurred in the preparation and mailing of the 2021 Change of Value Notices. Approximately 5,600 properties, mostly in southeastern Douglas County, received an incorrect notice of their 2021 valuation. The Appraiser’s Office is working to correct the issue, print revised notices, and send those within the next few days.

County Appraiser Steven Miles said, “We apologize for the issue and appreciate those who contacted us. Everyone has been very patient and understanding.”

The property valuations are correct on the Douglas County website and can be found here: https://apps.douglascountyks.org/mycounty/property-search/source.asp.

If residents have questions, they can email smiles@dgcoks.gov or call the Appraiser’s Office at 785-832-5133.
