Join Native Lands Restoration Collaborative and Douglas County for an afternoon of collecting native seeds at Ivan Boyd Prairie Preserve, located east of Baldwin City just off Highway 56 at 184 E 2000 Road. No experience necessary, all ages welcome! The guided-seed collection event will be 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28.
Volunteers are needed to harvest native prairie seeds to benefit local ecological restoration projects and free seed libraries. Organizers will provide gloves, tools, and education to all volunteers. Please come prepared to be outdoors in the tall prairie grass, including wearing long pants and sturdy, closed-toed shoes.
