Zoom Instructions for Public Meetings
How To Attend
You may watch the Commission meeting live on a tablet, smartphone, or computer. Tap the Zoom link for the meeting on the Commission Meeting page of the County website.
To listen by telephone call, dial the phone number listed below. When prompted, use the telephone keypad to enter the Meeting ID found on the Commission Meeting page of the County website.

NOTE: If visual aids are used during the meeting, you will not be able to view them without a computer, smartphone, or tablet.
If the meeting has not started when you join it, you will see or hear a message indicating that the Host has not started the meeting. Please wait. When the meeting starts you will see the screen on your device change to the meeting window or you will hear the meeting begin on your telephone. All participants will be entered into the meeting with their audio muted (we won’t be able to hear you).
If the link above does not open the meeting window on your device, follow the relevant instructions below.
Tablet or Smart Phone
Join from either the ZOOM Cloud Meetings app (found in your device’s App Store or Play Store) or from a browser on your device.
From the ZOOM app
Open the app and tap Join. Enter the Meeting ID. Tap Join Meeting.
From a browser
Open a browser and navigate to https://zoom.us/. Tap Join a Meeting, enter the Meeting ID and tap Join Meeting.
Computer
Open an Internet browser and navigate to the Zoom website Zoom US. Click or tap Join a Meeting near the top of the Zoom page. Enter the Meeting ID. Click or tap Join.
How To Raise Your Hand in Zoom
Join the Commission meeting on a computer, smartphone, or tablet by going to the County Commission web page and click the meeting link.
Speaking from a computer: You will need to enter you Meeting ID number. When you wish to speak, you will need to raise your hand in Zoom. To do this, move your mouse pointer to the bottom of the Zoom window and click the Raise Hand icon in the toolbar that appears at the bottom of the Zoom window.
Speaking from a smartphone or tablet: Using the Zoom app on your device, join the meeting. To raise your hand tap he screen and tap the Raise Hand icon in the toolbar that appears at the bottom of your device screen.
Speaking from a telephone: Dial into the meeting using the number displayed below. Enter the meeting ID when prompted. When you wish to raise your hand to speak, press *9 on your telephone keypad.
Speaking from a telephone: Dial into the meeting using 1-253-215-8782. Enter the meeting ID when prompted. When you wish to raise your hand to speak, press *9 on your telephone keypad.
Accessing Microsoft 365 Services
If you have been invited to a Douglas County resource powered by Microsoft 365, such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, or OneDrive, you will need to authenticate your account each time you access the resource.
First-Time Login
The first time you access a Microsoft-powered County resource, you will need to provide consent for your account to be registered to access our network.
To do this, use the link provided to you by the Douglas County staff member to access the resource(s) you have been granted. This link may be found in, but is not limited to, a Microsoft Teams invitation, a SharePoint site invitation, or a OneDrive sharing invitation email. Douglas County Microsoft Teams may be accessed at https://dgcoks.gov/teams.
Follow the instructions below to log in. After you log in, you will be shown a prompt asking you to accept the permissions requested. Click Accept to continue.
Note that accepting these permissions does not grant Douglas County or any of its staff access to your personal information, such as your email.
However, Douglas County does reserve the right to review all user activity on this service and may review logs for usage which violates County policy and/or any local, state, or federal laws.
Login
If your organization uses Microsoft (Office) 365, or you are using a personal Microsoft account
(@yourorganization.com, @outlook.com, @hotmail.com, etc.)
You should be able to sign in with your normal email address and password. If you do not know the login information for your account, you may need to ask your IT department.
If your organization does not use Microsoft 365, or you use any other email provider
(@gmail.com, @yahoo.com, etc.)
You will be prompted to receive a code at your email address. Wait for the email containing the coe to arrive, then enter the code into the sign-in prompt. If you do not receive the email, check your Spam or Junk Email folder. If you still do not receive the email, or you cannot access your email, you may need to contact your IT department.

Join a Microsoft Teams Meeting Without an Account
If you have been invited to a Microsoft Teams meeting hosted by a Douglas County staff member or department, you do not need a Microsoft account to join. You can join a Teams meeting from any device without signing in to a Microsoft account.
On a desktop or laptop computer
- Open the meeting invite and select the link next to Join or Click here to join the meeting, or use the link provided by the organizer.
- When prompted, select Continue on this browser or Join on the Teams app.
- You don't need to install the Teams app to join the meeting.
- You can join Teams for web on Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome. You may be prompted to give Teams access to your mic and camera. When you select Allow, you can always turn off your mic and camera once you join the meeting.
- Select Join now.
On a mobile device (smartphone, tablet)
- In the meeting invite, tap Click here to join the meeting or use the link provided by the organizer.
- If you haven't downloaded the Teams mobile app, this will take you to the app store to download it. Download the app and tap the meeting link again from the invite.
- In the Teams mobile app, allow Teams to access your mic so people in the meeting can hear you.
- Tap Join as a guest.
- Type your name and tap Join meeting.
