The DCFPC meeting host for the month of April is Feeding Eudora. Our host Laura Serene Smith, Eudora Community Resource Navigator and organizer of Feeding Eudora will be the opening presenter for the DCFPC full council meeting. Guest presenter Jacqueline Smith, Interim Executive Director, AFA will share about the Agrarian Future Alliance (AFA) Agrivoltaic Pilot Program Proposal.
The Douglas County Food Policy Council (DCFPC) seeks to identify the benefits, challenges and opportunities for a successful, sustainable local food system in Douglas County, Kansas. To this end, the purpose of the DCFPC is to advise City of Lawrence and Douglas County, Kansas elected officials on food-system related policy issues and to provide a community forum for local food system development.
This meeting will be held in hybrid format. Virtual participation is allowed for any participant, including advisory board members, staff, and the public. Members of the public are invited to join the meeting in-person at various locations or virtually using the Teams link provided above.
Written public comment must be received by the Douglas County Food Policy Council by 4:00 p.m. on the Friday before the monthly meeting which takes place on the third Monday of the month. Correspondence can be submitted electronically to dcfpc@dgcoks.gov. If you wish to have your contact information withheld, please indicate so in your correspondence. Comments received after the deadline will not be posted and there is no guarantee that such comments will be considered.
Live public comment can be made in person at the meeting or virtually using the Teams link provided above.
The primary format for accessing or participating in this meeting is in person. Virtual access to view or participate in the meeting cannot be guaranteed due to potential technology issues. The DCFPC meets at various locations across Douglas County, KS. Some meeting locations such as farms may not have the technology needed to conduct a hybrid meeting.

Public Comment: The Board shall allow public comment on items listed on the agenda. Each person will be limited to three (3) minutes for public comment. Members of the public may provide public comment on multiple agenda items. General public comment on items or issues that are not scheduled on the agenda may be made after all regular business of the Board has been conducted. Each person will be limited to three (3) minutes for general public comment.
