Community invited to participate in virtual Behavioral Health Prevention Summit in September

The community is invited to participate in a virtual Douglas County Behavioral Health Prevention Summit in September. One-hour sessions will take place on Tuesdays and Thursday and cover topics such as opioid, marijuana, suicide and vaping prevention as well as mental health promotion and supporting youth and families.

The schedule: 

Tuesdays (noon-1 p.m.)

  • Sept. 10 – Crisis support now. Recognizing mental health and suicide crisis and updates for Kansas 988.
  • Sept. 17 – Medication Assisted Treatment
  • Sept. 24 – Preventing youth violence through multisector collaboration

Thursdays (6-7 p.m.)

  • Sept. 12 – Empowering a well world through Sources of Strength Elementary
  • Sept. 19 – Screen sanity for Douglas County
  • Sept. 26 – Evidence-based programming across the youth system of care
