Douglas County offers drop-off recycling for residents who live in the unincorporated areas of Douglas County. Residents can use any of the sites that are available. If the recycling bins are full, please wait until another day to drop off items.

The Vinland location was closed Feb. 25 after multiple cases of illegal dumping. This site has been a concern for many months.  Adjacent properties and roadways have been frequently littered with windblown materials. County crews have had to remove truckloads of trash, furniture, appliances and electronics.  This site has been heavily used, but it has also been misused.

On March 23, Douglas County Commissioners approved a temporary business permit to relocate the Vinland recycling center to a county-owned Public Works operations satellite site at 1704 N 700 Road. It would be for one year with the possiblity of an extension. Public Works needs to do some work at the site before it can open. It is anticipated to open in late April.
