Douglas County District Court to begin seeing customers by appointment only

May 19, 2020 2:23 pm

Effective immediately, the Douglas County District Court Clerk’s Office will be open to the public for limited purposes by appointment only. Appointments must be made at least 24 hours in advance, and all persons entering the Judicial and Law Enforcement Center will be required to wear a mask and follow established social distancing guidelines. Any person with a temperature over 100 degrees will be denied entry.

To arrange an appointment, customers should call the court clerk’s office at 785-832-5256. The clerk will ask for information from callers to determine whether an appointment is required or appropriate under the circumstances. If it is determined that the customer does not need to appear in person, they will be advised of a different procedure to follow.

Appointments will not be made for the following reasons: paying court fines and fees, applying for marriage licenses, or filing protection cases. Court fines and fees can be paid at www.citepayusa.com. Marriage licenses may be obtained electronically; for more information on marriage licenses, please email the court at civil@dgcoks.gov. And Protection from Abuse and Protection from Stalking petitions are available at the security station located at the front entrance of the Judicial and Law Enforcement Center, 111 E. 11th St.
