WorkWell Symposium to feature author Laura Putnam

The ninth annual WorkWell Symposium will be 8:30 a.m.-noon Wednesday, Aug. 21, at the Lied Center of Kansas Pavilion, 1600 Stewart Drive, in Lawrence.

The keynote speaker will be Laura Putnam, author of “Workplace Wellness That Works” and CEO of Motion Infusion. She is the recipient of the American Heart Association's "2020 Impact" award as well as the National Wellness Institute’s “Circle of Leadership” award, and has inspired companies from Apple to Fitbit to invigorate their workplaces.

She will talk about why organizations cannot afford to overlook employee well-being and the steps each organization can take to make a difference.

“Laura Putnam not only has the research background for best practices in workplace wellness, but has traveled the country sharing and validating this information with organizations both small and large,” said WorkWell Chair-elect Janelle Martin, of Communities in Schools of Mid-America.

Early registration is $50 per person. After Aug. 15, registration is $65. Scholarships up to $50 are available to individuals and business employees. For details, contact WorkWell Douglas County Director Susan Farley at susanjohnson@ksu.edu or 785-843-7058.
